DESCRIPTION
Primarily work involves deployment, commissioning and support of enterprise datacenter systems involving virtualization, servers, storage, backup and high-availability infrastructure for mission-critical customer deployments.
Responsibilities include:
- Install and configure enterprise servers and virtualization platforms
- Deploy and maintain VMware / virtualized environments
- Configure and support Windows Server and Linux environments
- Install and manage Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Configure and validate High Availability (HA) and failover environments
- Deploy and support SAN and shared-storage infrastructure
- Configure backup and recovery systems including Veeam and immutable backup repositories
- Prepare server, storage and deployment architecture for customer requirements
- Carry out installation, commissioning and troubleshooting at customer sites
- Conduct failover, backup and disaster-recovery testing
- Prepare deployment documentation and technical reports
- Work with development and support teams to troubleshoot customer issues
- Conduct customer training and infrastructure handover activities
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of server and virtualization technologies
- Experience with VMware / Hypervisor environments
- Good understanding of Windows Server and Linux administration
- Understanding of SQL Server deployment and backup concepts
- Familiarity with SAN, NAS, RAID and shared-storage concepts
- Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Veeam
- Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and system issues logically
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Meticulous and disciplined approach to technical work
- Ability to travel and work at customer locations when required
- Ability to document systems and communicate clearly with customers and team members
